Luton Airport – latest proposals

26th October 2020

Although the Airport has announced it is delaying any formal application to the Government of its major expansion plans until next year, it has recently announced two public consultation exercises.

Consultation 1 – Increasing passenger numbers from 18m passengers a year to 19m passengers per year.

The Airport is not proposing any changes to the Airport or surrounding area but wants to vary its current planning permission to increase the cap on passengers by 1,000,000 a year.
Details of the consultation can be found here.

The deadline for responses is 11th November 2020

Consultation 2 – Changes to the Flightpaths

The Airport is proposing to change the Flightpaths for flight arrivals. This will have both positive and negative impacts on areas of Bedfordshire. They are consulting on two Options and details of these can be found here.

The deadline for responses is 5th February 2021
