Church Road, Flitwick: planning application withdrawn

Last year CPRE Bedfordshire worked with the Church Road Local Action Group.

The group in Flitwick were campaigning to save Greenbelt land from development with their ‘STOP Retirement Development Campaign’.

The planning application has now been withdrawn. We understand that the presence of a main gas pipe across a significant part of the field is an insurmountable problem for a development of any size. Approximately one third of the field might be outside the risk zone however any proposal would be unlikely to fulfil the criteria necessary for the site to be taken out of the Greenbelt.

The Local Action Group will now stop actively campaigning but will keep a watch on the site should there be any further applications.
