Despite the Public Inquiry into Central Bedfordshire’s much needed Local Plan ending in July we are still no nearer having a final version.


The choices made by the next government will have big consequences for our countryside – from buses to farming, new homes to net zero. The General Election is a crucial time when we must demand that the countryside we all love is at the top of the political agenda.

London Luton Airport is currently holding a second stage of public consultation on its plans to expand the Airport. This runs from 16th October – 16th December.


Following Freedom of Information requests by CPRE Bedfordshire, Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) has now released the formal letter written to them on the 30th September by Inspectors examining their Local Plan 2035.


CPRE Bedfordshire responds to Government refusal to hold a Public Inquiry into plans for an A6 – M1 Link Road, through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.


CPRE Bedfordshire is appalled by the recent decision of Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) to approve the construction of a new A6 - M1 Link Road which will be built entirely in the Green Belt.
