Office Administrator - 6 hrs per week

CPRE Bedfordshire are looking to recruit a part-time Office Administrator who will provide administrative support to our busy charity, based in our Bedford office.

We are a small Bedfordshire based charity and a local branch of CPRE Campaign to Protect Rural England. We work to protect, promote and enhance our towns and countryside in Bedfordshire to make them better places to live, work and enjoy, and to ensure the countryside is protected for now and future generations.

 

As we are a membership charity, the role will also have responsibility to maintain and comply with GDPR guidelines regarding membership.

 

Duties to include:

• Responding to emails and sending out mailings to members
• Updating reports
• Booking meeting rooms
• Filing/ photocopying
• Assisting with organising events
• Answering telephone calls

Working 6 hours per week (ideally Mondays and Thursdays – flexible hours to suit)
£9 per hour. This post is initially a fixed term contract of 1 year.

 

ROLE SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Proven administration experience essential with knowledge of current GDPR regulations
• Excellent English skills - ability to write clear well-structured documents and emails
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office, able to create reports in Word
• Good accurate keyboard skills
• Attention to detail essential
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines set
• A self-motivated, reliable and resilient team-player


PERSONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Represent the charity in a professional and positive manner
• Work as an effective team member,able to both use own initiative and work within guidelines
• Comply with charity policies and procedures, including GDPR
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ensure good personal timekeeping / reliability
• Prioritise workload effectively and be able to work efficiently and accurately
• An interest in the local environment
