Development at Biggleswade Development at Biggleswade Barry Halton

Join us at CPRE Bedfordshire's 30th Annual General Meeting, to be held at Stratton Upper School, Eagle Farm Rd, Biggleswade, SG18 8JB from 6.30pm, Monday 15th May.

Following the AGM, we are delighted that Tom Fyans, CPRE’s National Director of Campaigns and Policy, will be speaking. This will be a great chance to find out more about what CPRE is doing to help protect our countryside, and how we can all be involved.

Everyone is welcome. Free to members, £3 donation for non-CPRE members. The timings for the evening are as follows:

• 6.30pm Arrival and refreshments
• 7.00pm AGM
• 7.30pm Talk and discussion

The meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about some of the wider issues influencing development across Bedfordshire, such as the Housing White Paper, the Oxford-Cambridge corridor and the overall approach to land use and value in England. As well as a chance to look at local planning concerns, and plenty of time for discussion and questions.

Tom Fyans is currently Director of Campaigns and Policy at the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), where he has strategic oversight of the advocacy and policy functions. Tom has over 20 years’ experience of providing campaign leadership in a range of charities. Prior to joining CPRE, he was Head of Campaigns at ActionAid UK, and is also the former Head of Campaigns at Amnesty International UK. Tom is currently ensuring all parties in the General Election recognise the countryside’s huge contribution to individuals and communities well-being, as well as the wider economy.

Members can download papers for the AGM below - please contact the office if you require any paper copies.

(Please note that this venue is a change from the venue advertised in the last issue of Bedfordshire Matters magazine.)
