CPRE Bedfordshire has learned that over 40% of the 19,000 planned new homes that Bedford Borough Council claims it needs to build in its Local Plan 2035, are for people moving into Bedford Borough from elsewhere in the UK.

Having looked through the documents for Bedford Borough Council's Local Plan 2035 consultation, we've released our early thoughts here.

Bedford Borough Council's Local Plan is currently open for consultation, setting out its proposals for where the new homes it needs will be built.

CPRE Bedfordshire is strongly opposed to Covanta gaining an environment permit to incinerate non-hazardous waste at its planned facility at Rookery South, Stewartby.

This year CPRE Bedfordshire celebrates 30 years of standing up for Bedfordshire’s countryside and greenspaces. To mark this, we are running a photography competition open to all, to build a picture of Bedfordshire’s much-loved countryside and greenspaces, and glimpse how these are changing. The theme is: Bedfordshire - A Changing Landscape.

Join us at CPRE Bedfordshire's 30th Annual General Meeting, to be held at Stratton Upper School, Eagle Farm Rd, Biggleswade, SG18 8JB from 6.30pm, Monday 15th May.
