Could you be our new planning volunteer for Central Bedfordshire?

Can you help us stand up for Bedfordshire's countryside? We are looking for someone to join our small team of planning volunteers to research and respond to local planning issues, standing up for our countryside and valued green spaces in Central Bedfordshire.

Our planning work is varied and largely desk-based, with the tasks and time depending on the nature of planning applications or issues at any time.

The role involves working within our branch’s planning team to review plans and applications online and drafting response letters on our behalf.

Occasionally this may involve visiting sites and attending council meetings, plus meetings with other CPRE planning volunteers, parish councillors, local residents or other organisations.

Bedfordshire is under enormous pressure for new housing and infrastructure, given its location close to London, Cambridge and Milton Keynes. Yet we have some beautiful and much-loved countryside in Bedfordshire such as the Chilterns Hills, Greensand Ridge, Ivel Valley and Great Ouse Valley.

This role is an opportunity to be involved in helping to influence the future of Bedfordshire's towns and countryside, standing up for the greenspaces of Bedfordshire and working for the sustainable development of Bedfordshire's communities.
